Trichocereus Hybrid 'Leuchtfeuer' (Beacon of Light) — Rare Red-Violet & Yellow Blooming Cactus

Its name says it all — 'Leuchtfeuer', German for "Beacon of Light," is a Trichocereus hybrid that truly illuminates any collection. Hybridized by Autenrieth of Germany, it produces massive 6–7"+ blooms in a breathtaking contrast of vivid red-violet inner petals with a bright yellow base that bleeds and streaks upward through two-thirds of each petal. Occasionally a narrow yellow midstripe runs all the way to the petal tips — every bloom is a slightly different masterpiece.

Wide, rounded petals with a pinched, re-curving tip, a chartreuse throat ring, dark violet pistil, cream stigma, and yellow-to-cream anthers complete this extraordinary flower. This well-rooted plant is 3 inches tall and will grow into a sturdy column reaching 6–8" in diameter and 18"+ tall.
